Hope to see you on Sundays!
Rev. Brian Keller, Pastor
*Based on current PA “Green” operational mandates.
You are invited to a celebration! Pastor Dick Carlson will be retiring from his role as Visiting Pastor beginning July 1, 2021. A retirement celebration will be held between church services on June 6th at 10am. Pastor Carlson will also have a special role in each church service that morning. Hope to see you there!
Maybe you’re like me and between quarantining and holiday rush, you forgot to order our church’s 2020 Commemorative Christmas ornament. I finally got mine a few weeks ago and planned to store with other ornaments.
As I was hurrying to put it away, I occurred to me that this ornament reflected much much more than our church’s 200-year history. The “2020” inscribed on it reflected the enormous challenges that 2020 required us to face. Through the grace of God, my family was for the most part spared. Other families were not so lucky. We may have worshipped remotely but we remained in touch on Sundays via Facebook and YouTube. Prayer requests were shared and we prayed for them as well as families, and friends.
I realized that this ornament did not belong in a box with the others, it deserved to hang from a window latch in our kitchen as a daily reminder of God’s care in 2020 and his promise to be with us always.
Ornaments remain available through our church office for $12 each. We are also hope you will consider sponsoring one (or more) of the 200 years for $20 per year.
Revenue from these two fundraising activities will be used to defray cost of our postponed celebrations in the fall.
Mark your calendars for the car show on Sept 25th from 1 to 5 pm and our celebration weekend Oct 16 and 17. Saturday will feature family activities and Sunday will be a combined worship service with our bishop, Cynthia Moore-Koikoi. An old-fashioned potluck dinner afterwards will provide more opportunity for fellowship.
