200th Anniversary

Save the date October 11

Come and celebrate our 200th Anniversary of sharing God’s love through worship, fellowship and discipleship at Mercer UM Church!

We can all agree that being reunited again in fellowship will undoubtedly be a key highlight of our celebration year.  In anticipation of that occurring as soon as safely possible,  the 200th Celebration committee is anxious to resume our monthly speaker series highlighting our church’s impact on the lives of it’s members. The memories and experiences of our oldest living member, Jerry Johnson, are already teed up for the next opportunity. We’re also anxious to install our celebratory banner in front of our church to share our 200 year heritage with our community. Plans are tentatively underway for a car show in August, too.

Please mark your calendars now for October 11, when we will have a combined service with our Bishop, Cynthia Moore-Koikoi, in attendance.  This promises to be a unique opportunity to meet Cynthia and benefit from her spiritual guidance and oversight.  Tentative plans for a catered dinner following the service are also in the works.  We continue to pray for God’s guidance as we celebrate this major MUMC milestone while being mindful of coronavirus concerns.

All members are encouraged to share any other celebration suggestions with any committee member. (Brian Keller, Denise Orr, Dick and Linda Carlson, Sue Vernon, Pat and Linda Grundy, Jerry Johnson, or Glenda Corner).
